A Long Holiday

Yow Kia

9th of August is Singapore National Day. It just happened that this day fall on Thursday in this year. With one annual leave that I have taken on 10th of August, I spent my 4 days in my hometown of Kuala Lumpur.

It’s been a long time I have not taken so many days leave. These 4 days, no working, no emails, no blogging, no Toastmasters clubbing, no salsa… Simply enjoying! Is this the kind of lifestyle that I’m looking forward to?

I think so. Why? Don’t misunderstand me. I don’t mean that I hate my current lifestyle. I still love doing what I’m doing now… It’s just that in these 4 days, I had no commitment at all. I could do whatever I want at whatever timing. I could simply make a phone call to my old friends to come out for a cup of tea, for a movie, etc…

What I’ve done in these 4 days?
First day
- Looked for my elder sister for lunch.
- Went shopping alone, bought 1 shirt, 1 pair of pants, 1 pair of jeans, 1 T-shirt.
- Went to buy return ticket from Kuala Lumpur to Singapore.
- Night time, went dinner with my family.

Second day
- Went for lunch with my primary school classmate and his ex-colleagues.
- Went shopping with my friend, bought 1 shirt, 1 pair of pants.
- Night time, stayed at home to eat my mum’s cooked dishes.
- Phone chatting with my friend for a few hours.
- Midnight, went supper with my friend.

Third day
- Went for lunch with my high school friend.
- Went for a movie with my high school friend.
- Went for dinner with my high school friend.
- Went shopping with my high school friend.
- Went drinking with my high school friends.

Forth day
- Went to buy 6 pens for my Toastmasters Club committee.
- Stayed a home for lunch.
- Went back to Singapore from Kuala Lumpur at 4pm.

What do you think about this kind of lifestyle? It’s simply amazing and enjoyable! My ultimate aim is not only to do whatever I want at anytime. But to do whatever I want at wherever I wanted to go… For example, going to Japan to visit my friend on the first day, going to Hong Kong to do Salsa on the second day, going to Thailand for Thai massage on the third day, going to USA to visit Toastmasters club after that…. Wow….

This is so called the NEW RICH life. I’m looking forward to having this kind of life….
