KINDLY Versus PLEASE

 | Author:yowkia |  |

Yow Kia

Recently in my business email communication, I saw a lot of people using this word – ‘Kindly’.

Example:
Kindly reply me the delivery schedule by today 5pm.
=> ‘Kindly’ is an adverb. By using ‘kindly’, it means that you feel agitated to the person you are writing to.

To maintain good relationship with the person you are sending to, and to avoid misunderstanding, the correct use of word should be ‘Please’.

Example:
Please reply me the delivery schedule by today 5pm.
=> This sounds polite and the reader will feel more comfortable while reading.
