Darren LaCroix is one of my favourite speakers. He is the world champion public speaker in year 2001. I love the way he injected his humour to his powerful and inspirational winning speech – “Ouch!”.

In his winning speech, he shared about his experience in his failure in business and eventually found out that he had a dream of becoming a comedian. He wasn’t funny at all in the past. However, despite the negative comments from his friends and family, he took his first step. His journey to becoming a great comedian was not easy. He was once being bombed on stage during his presentation in a comedy club, however, he continued to move forward.

An expert was not an expert when he was born. Darren LaCroix was not an expert in public speaking, but now, he is a very well-known public speaker! You see, “It can be done!”. The bottom line is whether you dare to take your first step, to withstand all the obstacles that come to you during your journey.

Everyone who has accomplished anything, surely, had face obstacles before. This is the reason why great people are so great. It’s because they are tough enough to face any obstacles.

My journey to possess excellent communication skills is not an easy journey too. But, I will still continue doing it. I won’t give up. How about you?
